Modern orthodontics now includes innovative solutions like Invisalign. Dr. Ford has invested in discreet and advanced solutions, including clear aligners and clear ceramic braces. With his expertise, he will ensure your child benefits from the latest and most effective orthodontic options.
If you’re an adult with crooked teeth, you may want to consider Invisalign treatment for yourself too. Invisalign has options for children, teens, and adults.
Invisalign First is a Phase 1 treatment option for children between the ages of 6 and 10. It uses smaller aligners to correct the alignment of incoming teeth and existing teeth. If your child is older, they may be a better fit for Invisalign Teen. Dr. Ford will review which solution is best for your child. However, both options come with unique benefits you won’t find with braces:
- Discreet Appearance – Invisalign’s invisible design blends in with natural teeth. Many kids and teens prefer this subtle look over the visible wires and brackets of traditional braces.
- Removable Aligners – Unlike fixed braces, Invisalign trays can be removed temporarily for easier eating, better oral hygiene, and avoidance of injury from contact sports.
- Improved Comfort – Invisalign’s tray material feels naturally smooth against the tongue and cheeks for more comfort than the brackets and wires of braces.
- Predictable Results – Dr. Ford uses 3-D technology to create a custom treatment plan tailored to your child’s unique mouth, teeth, and jaw. This ensures precise, predictable results and a beautifully aligned smile.
What to Expect With Invisalign Aligners
If you are interested in pursuing Invisalign treatment for your child, here is what you can expect:
- Initial Exam – Dr. Ford gathers extensive information to determine if aligners are right for your child. He’ll capture photos with an intraoral camera and digital X-rays, and take digital scans of your child’s teeth to customize the aligners. The information is used to design the series of custom Invisalign aligners.
- Treatment Begins – Your child will receive their custom-made aligners. They’ll wear each set according to the treatment plan, usually changing to the next set every week. They must wear them at least 21 hours per day to ensure the best results.
- Periodic Progress Checks – You and your child will visit our office for monitoring of your child’s progress. These appointments are easy and won’t require any adjustments like braces do.
